Some say that finding a home is just like searching for your soul mate. As with your partner in life, you nurture a relationship with your home. And why not? It is at home where you start and raise your family. When you feel sick, you run home to get well. When you get tired from work, it is at home where you seek retreat and relaxation. Your home is a silent witness to all the significant moments in your life.
These might be some of the thoughts Enrico "Weko" Altamirano was mulling over as he decided last year to acquire a home of his own. The 34-year old Weko is set to marry his longtime girlfriend Weng Felarca this December, and he was ready to buy his first home for his would-be wife. "I wanted a unit that's already RFO (ready-for-occupancy)," shares Weko. "Before now and the wedding in December, there's a lot of preparations to be made. Choosing a home, of course will be the biggest priority. "So it's a lot better if I can move in before that. Then I can devote the rest of my time with the wedding... and the rest of my life here with Weng," adds a smiling Weko, throwing a pleased look at her pretty fiancée Weng, who sat beside him throughout the interview.
The couple also had other considerations in choosing their dream home. Foremost of these was location. Both Weko and Weng are professionals. "I work in McKinley while Weng is a tax manager in an IT company in Cubao, Quezon City. But the company is set to transfer soon to Bonifacio Global City. Naturally, we want a home near BGC." The couple shared that before they went on a lookout, they already listed down all their considerations. "We wanted a condo unit that we can afford for now," shares Weko. "It'll be a start. We can always go for a bigger house in 5 or 10 years when the family becomes bigger."
The couple discovered Cypress Towers while browsing the Internet for condo units available in the market. The distinct features of Cypress Towers - location, unit size, and amenities - were exactly what they were looking for. Located at the corner of Diego Silang St. and C-5 in Taguig City, Cypress Towers is very accessible to major thoroughfares and business and commercial districts around Metro Manila. The development is also just five minutes away from BGC. Zooming on to the units, the couple settled on a 71-square-meter two bedroom end unit. A major plus, it will be ready-for-occupancy by June 2008.
"We decided to visit the site to check the development". It was love at first sight. They liked what they saw and immediately reserved a unit that very day; they closed the deal barely a month after. "We were so excited!" Weko exclaims. "We can't believe we got the chance to own a home that fulfills what we always wanted."
And Weko and Weng also discovered the home where they can start the 'rest of their lives' together: at Cypress Towers, the high-rise residential community in Taguig City that is being developed by DMCI Homes in partnership with Crown Equities Inc. Belmira Tower, the first building to be completed at Cypress Towers, proved to be a monumental milestone for DMCI Homes as it was completed way ahead of schedule, from the original October completion date to June. The celebration of that achievement and the formal opening of the building were held last June 28 at Cypress Towers' amenity grounds.
It was coincidentally the date Weko finally moved in at Cypress Towers. Altamirano was of course among the special guests and was feted as Cypress Towers' first resident. He received a symbolic key from DMCI Homes in behalf of all future Belmira Tower residents.
Right now, the couple is busy with their wedding preparations while Weko completes the interior decorations and furnishings of his new unit. The family isn't there yet but Weko and Weng can now see where they want it to be and where it will all start...right at their very own Cypress Towers home.
