Having business transactions in Davao City, Manila-based couple David and Mae Nouvelot had always wanted a “second home” in the King City of the South.
“We were searching for a condominium to buy in Davao. We have an office there and we were looking for our own place to stay. Something more personal than staying in hotels,” shared David, a French national who runs a company that supplies generators and power stations in the country.
While they already have a number of condominium investments in Manila, travel restrictions due to the coronavirus health crisis made it difficult for them to scout and acquire a condo for rent in Davao City.
Thanks to online homebuying, the couple was able to find their ideal home even at the height of the pandemic—a 2-bedroom unit in Verdon Parc, DMCI Homes’ four-building development along Ecoland Drive corner Peacock Street, Davao City.
“The plan for the unit we purchased in Verdon Parc is definitely for a second home, for a residential place to stay in whenever we’re in Davao. Not only for business purpose but also so that my wife and I could enjoy a more relaxed life in Davao by living in a resort-style condominium and spend weekends there,” David related.
“We used to have a day trip just to go to Davao back and forth. So, my wife and I wanted to be more relaxed and to enjoy a bit of the time we will spend there and discover the region also. Plus, with the pandemic, we wanted something more private, a place of our own,” the 52-year-old father of two continued.
With the aid of DMCI Homes’ interactive website and the assistance of a DMCI Homes property advisor, David and Mae were able to find the resort-style home they had always wanted.
“It was a bit difficult at first to choose where to invest in Davao City because we were doing it during a pandemic and there were travel restrictions. We haven’t been to Verdon Parc but thanks to a DMCI Homes property advisor, we were shown a lot of videos of the property,” David explained.
“We were looking for a place that feels like a resort. We saw some very nice presentations made by DMCI and we did a lot of interactive viewing, so we can have a feel and get a good view of what we will see when we go there,” he said.
The couple certainly liked what they saw in the videos that they are already dreaming of spending time in their new home and delight in its wide array of resort-inspired amenities and facilities.
“The swimming pools look very interesting. Looks very nice, looks very relaxing area. I’m really hoping to enjoy the spaces between the building, the pool, the close access to some amenities. So, we are looking forward to spending some time there,” he beamed.
“And our unit isn’t that far from the center which will help us live easily. That’s what we’re looking at. Plus, we were able to purchase a corner unit with very nice views and very nice lighting. Kind of looking forward to a relaxed living in the unit,” David shared.
Best of all, they bought the unit for a good price too. “Verdon Parc is perfect for us. It is good value for money. It’s fit with our budget and fit with our purpose. It is price for value. There was another project with a good developer but they were a bit more in a higher price for our liking,” David enthused.
“We wanted to make sure that our daily living expenses will not be affected with the purchase of this investment, so we decided that this is a value for our money investment and DMCI seems to be the right answer at that time and we think until now,” he revealed.
Their decision to invest in Verdon Parc was also buoyed by their confidence in the project developer, having been to some of DMCI Homes’ projects in Metro Manila where their friends live.
“We wanted to choose a developer that is well known and reliable. It’s difficult to buy a property from afar plus investing in real estate involves quite some amount of money, so we wanted to make sure what we were purchasing is worth it,” he explained.
If their homebuying experience is any indication, David knows they made the right decision to invest in a DMCI Homes property.
“This is our first time to buy a DMCI Homes property and we’re very happy how it turned out. We are very pleased with the first engagement we had with DMCI Homes’ sales team- they are very intentional and passionate in informing me of the latest progress with our purchase. It was actually fairly a nice experience,” he said, smiling.
“So, if we will decide to invest again in the Philippines, we would definitely look at some other projects in DMCI Homes,” he declared.
