DMCI Homes has been helping finance the education of the children of eligible skilled workers through the David M. Consunji (DMC) Scholarship

The DMC Scholarship program for dependents of workers with the rank of capataz or foreman has already produced five college graduates since its inception in 2018.

Aspiring engineer

Fernando E. Peña Jr., a DMC Scholar studying BS Civil Engineering at the Technological Institute of the Philippines in Quezon City, found the scholarship program helpful especially during the pandemic.

Hopeful tourism student

Jamaica Ramirez, a fourth year BS Tourism Management student at the Philippine Women’s University in Laguna, is also thankful to be a beneficiary of the program particularly during the pandemic.

Ramirez’s father Melvin is a foreman currently assigned at Sonora Garden Residences project site in Las Piñas City. She thanked DMCI Homes for helping her family get through the pandemic by supporting her education.

“I want DMCI Homes to know that their generous support helped me a lot in financing my studies. I hope that this scholarship program will continue to support students like me who want to achieve their dreams despite having financial problems,” she said.

How to apply

To qualify for the DMC Scholarship, eligible applicants must be children of either a capataz or a foreman working in DMCI Homes for at least four years, has good moral standing with no violation record on safety and administrative policies of the company, and highly recommended by their respective project-in charge (PICs).

The students must also pass the evaluation of the selection committee and have received the endorsement letter from the president of the company.

The scholarship program is part of DMCI Homes’ “Kaakbay sa Edukasyon” Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives which aim to enhance learning and education in the country. “Kaakbay sa Edukasyon” is under the umbrella CSR program “Kaakbay” which aims to extend global affluence and uphold the well-being of Filipinos.
