DMCI Homes has proudly received recognition as one of the "environmental champions" at the first-ever Bantayog ng Lawa 2024 awards, presented by the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA).
The event took place last October 9, 2024 at Novotel Manila, Cubao, Quezon City, celebrating stakeholders who have made significant contributions to the enhancement and protection of the Laguna de Bay Region.
The Bantayog ng Lawa 2024 awards, held in celebration of LLDA's 55th anniversary, honored 59 outstanding individuals and organizations under the categories Bantayog Para sa Kaunlaran, Bantayog Para sa Kabuhayan, Bantayog Para sa Kalikasan, and Pagkilala at Pasasalamat, for their exemplary contributions to environmental sustainability and protection.
The event was graced by Secretary Ma. Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Atty. Marius P. Corpus, Chairperson of the Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG), Vice Governor Reynaldo H. San Juan Jr. of Rizal Province, and Dr. Roda Valenzuela of the Provincial Government Environment Natural Resource Office of Laguna.
"I'd like to thank the men and women we are honoring today and all the various stakeholders for the environmental initiatives and for providing sustainable and innovative solutions for the development and economic growth of multiple regions," Yulo-Loyzaga told the awardees.
DMCI Homes Corporate Communications Manager Butch Mendizabal accepted the award on behalf of DMCI Homes, sharing the company's commitment to sustainability and its ongoing efforts to balance development with environmental stewardship.
"This recognition motivates us to continue focusing on sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and our homeowners," Mendizabal said.
He highlighted some of DMCI Homes' key environmental initiatives, such as the use of their innovative Lumiventt® Design Technology, which enhances natural airflow and lighting, reducing energy consumption in high-rise buildings.
Mendizabal also emphasized DMCI Homes' water recycling efforts, noting that wastewater is used to irrigate their landscaped areas and that the company has invested in full water recycling facilities to further conserve water.
He also reiterated DMCI Homes' active participation in government programs aimed at environmental protection.
"Our tree-planting activities with our condominium communities and initiatives to help keep waterways clean are part of our ongoing efforts to support the environment," he said.
