Volunteers of DMCI Homes, composed of its employees and residents of its condominium communities, recently joined hands to refurbish the classroom facilities of Captain Albert Aguilar (CAA) Elementary School in Las Piñas in time for the school opening on June 3.
During the activity spearheaded by the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) last May 25, DMCI Homes volunteers painted school chairs to help create a conducive learning environment for the returning pupils this coming academic year.
PBSP Relationship Management Officer Monette Varona thanked DMCI Homes for joining the organization’s "Ready for School" campaign which supports the Department of Education's annual “Brigada Eskwela” school clean-up initiative which aims to prepare public schools for the opening of classes each year.
"For today’s activity we were able to engage seven companies including DMCI Homes to paint 200 chairs, cover 800 books, and do two classroom clean-ups," Varona said.
CAA Elementary School Brigada Eskwela Coordinator Rudyard Morante also lauded the efforts of the volunteers in ensuring that the school which hosts the most number of elementary pupils in Metro Manila, is ready for the opening of classes next week.
The volunteers of DMCI Homes, meanwhile, expressed gratitude for being given the opportunity to contribute to nation-building through their participation in the Ready for School 2019.
DMCI Homes' participation in Ready for School 2019 is part of DMCI Homes’ “Kaakbay sa Edukasyon” CSR initiative which aims to enhance learning and education in communities where DMCI Homes operates.
