Pet dog owners in DMCI Homes’ Siena Park Residences community in Parañaque City recently held a Dog Fair as part of their initiative to help promote responsible pet ownership and animal welfare among residents.
The activity coincided with the launch of “Dogs of Siena,” a group of Siena Park Residences’ dog owners which aims to promote responsible “pawrenting” through the registration of fur babies in the community; adherence to community rules and regulations on pets; and conduct of events and activities beneficial to pet owners.
Held at the Siena Park Residences’ Clubhouse last July 24, the activity included an all-day bazaar and grooming service to enable dog owners to stock up on supplies and keep their fur babies look great and healthy.
There were also raffle and games as well as a Dog Coach Talk and Consultation activity, which gave the attendees tips on how to properly care for pets especially during the pandemic.
Serving as highlight of the event was the Dogs Got Talent Show, which gave out awards such as “Most Adograble,” “Best in Twinning,” “Best Behaved,” “Fluffiest Dog,” “The Bark,” and “Most Senior Dog” to the adorable fur babies in the community.
Pao Roces, one of the organizers of the Dog Fair, said the activity was a good way to promote responsible pet ownership as well as help residents get to know more about their neighbors in the community.
“We organized it so that dog owners can meet with everyone. We wanted to help the Property Management Office (PMO) to manage the dogs here in Siena,” Roces said.
So it’s a way of us helping them and at the same time knowing our neighbors through our pets. The PMO is very supportive. They gave a lot of suggestions and advice to us. Along with the Community Development Council, they have been very helpful,” he continued.
Roces said promoting responsible pet ownership is their way of giving back to their treasured home which recognizes fur babies as members of the community.
“Actually, one reason why we bought our condo is because it’s dog-friendly and we like to consider our dog as one of the members of the family. Besides the nice community, it actually is a good place to start a small family with a pet so we really like living here,” he beamed.
