One valuable lesson the coronavirus health crisis has taught us is the importance of living in a community that encourages us to achieve better physical and emotional well-being.
As we spend more time at home, we’ve seen how important it is to live in a place which can be our refuge from all the stress of everyday living.
Nilo San Buenaventura is grateful to have found such a place in DMCI Homes’ Viera Residences community along Scout Tuason Avenue, Quezon City.
Nilo, a stroke survivor, said the single-tower resort-inspired condominium has been serving as his wellness retreat even before the pandemic.
“Recovering from a stroke is not that easy. You worry about a lot of things, in terms of security, your future, etc.,” shared Nilo who is a professional healthcare representative by profession.
“But staying here at Viera helped me to have peace of mind. You only think of the good surroundings that you have, the security that DMCI Homes provides. So at least that’s one less thing na iniisip ko pa,” he added.
Ever since he moved into his two-bedroom unit in 2018, Viera Residences has provided Nilo with all the things he needs in recovering from his sickness and coping with the pandemic.
Alfresco condo living
At a time when alfresco living is in vogue because of the coronavirus, Nilo said he is happy to live in condominium that is designed to allow natural light and cross ventilation to permeate inside the structure by virtue of Lumiventt® Design Technology.
“The lighting and the flow of air is very spontaneous. Mararamdaman mo yung hangin when you open your door. It marries the wind coming from the lobby, and from the elevator side. Maganda ‘yung flow ng air and the lighting,” Nilo said.
“So that’s one good thing na kakaiba sa DMCI Homes condos. Hindi feeling na nakakulong. Hindi enclosed ang space. Maluwag, as in may freedom not only physically but also yung surroundings, ‘yung air, ‘yung lighting,” he continued.
This innovative building design coupled with a resort-like ambiance convinced him that Viera Residences is a good buy.
“Sa lobby pa lang napakaganda na. It feels like you’re in a resort. And then I went up. I went to the units. Hindi cramped ‘yung space. Hindi siya gaya ng mga typical na condo units ng ibang developers na magkatapatan ‘yung doors,” he pointed out.
Big living spaces
In searching for a home, Nilo considered three other developers but only DMCI Homes caught his fancy.
“DMCI is a pioneer in the development industry and has created many good projects. You cannot compromise the quality of the home that you would reside in,” Nilo explained.
“Second, of course you want your money’s worth. ‘Yung cut ng units niya napakalaki. I think it’s even more than the money that I paid for. Value for money,” he added.
Initially, Nilo said he planned to buy a unit in another DMCI Homes project—Sorrel Residences in Manila—but changed his mind when he learned about Viera Residences which was closer to the hospital where he works.
“I chose Viera kasi malapit siya sa mga groceries, kainan at sa gimikan and the fact na mas malapit rin ako sa workplace ko. So I opted to buy at Viera Residences instead,” he said referring to the property’s proximity to Tomas Morato Avenue, which is an old favorite leisure spot in Quezon City.
“Fits my needs”
Nilo is also happy that they have their own Property Management Office (PMO) which oversees the upkeep and the security of the community.
“I believe there is harmony in the community. There is peace in the community. The situation is very peaceful, very serene, and at the same the PMO is very collaborative with their unit owners,” Nilo said.
He also appreciates the PMO’s efforts to keep the community safe and informed especially during the pandemic.
“During the pandemic and when earthquakes and typhoons happened, updated kami. They are trying to accommodate the concerns of everybody,” he related.
All these benefits considered, Nilo is thankful for finding all the things he was looking for in a home at Viera Residences—a place that turned out to be his wellness retreat as he recovered from his stroke and a comforting refuge from the anxieties brought about by the pandemic.
“I was looking for a property that would fit my needs—a space where there is freedom to walk around. Dito sa Viera, ang daming space na malalaki. You could run around, you could walk around, you can swim and all that,” he enthused.
“At the same time, I wanted to live in a condo that will truly provide the comfort that I want and the peace that I need while I recover from my sickness. And now that I’m working from home, my spacious unit and Viera’s big spaces like the lobby and roofdeck turned out to be very convenient spots also for my work from home needs,” Nilo beamed.
