While most men of his age usually spend their money to buy their first car or splurge on the latest gadgets, airline employee Chris Cellan decided to use his earnings instead on getting his own condominium property.
Just this August, Chris at a young age of 25, realized his dream of having his own place when he moved into his 1-bedroom unit at the Marantina building of DMCI Homes’ Calathea Place project along Dr. A. Santos Avenue (formerly Sucat Road), Parañaque City.
“I’ve been renting for three years in an apartment in Pasay City so I’m happy that I finally have my own home,” Chris said.
Knowing the many benefits of investing in real estate, the young Davaoeño is grateful to have chosen to spend his earnings on buying his own condominium unit especially amidst the uncertainty brought about by the health crisis-fueled recession.
“I’ve read about a recent BSP (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas) report saying that residential property prices are still appreciating even with the coronavirus pandemic. So I guess I made the right decision when I invested in a pre-selling property,” he said.
While he plans to live in his unit, Chris said he can always turn it into an additional source of income in case he decides to lease his property in the future especially with the vibrant rental market in the area because of the property’s strategic location near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and the Entertainment City.
“I really like the location. It’s along the highway and it’s near the airport, groceries, restaurants, and commercial establishments so it’s very convenient for me,” he shared.
In the meantime, however, Chris just wants to enjoy the comforts of his new home built by the developer he admires the most.
Having seen the Quadruple A developer’s Verdon Parc project in Davao City and Fairway Terraces development in Pasay City, Chris related that he had always dreamed of buying a unit at DMCI Homes.
“Before Calathea Place, I first inquired at Fairway Terraces but it was already sold out at that time. I like DMCI Homes because of its unique architectural design. You do not need to use the aircon because it is airy inside the unit,” Chris said.
“The air goes in and out unlike in other condominiums. It really helps to live in a condominium with good natural light and air circulation especially now that we’re staying at home most of the time,” he continued.
With the well-being of residents in mind, DMCI Homes intended all four buildings of Calathea Place—eight-storeys high Zebrina and Leonia, and 12-storeys high Marantina and Lavender— to be healthy dwelling spaces by integrating landscaped atriums and single-loaded corridors in their design.
These features not only eliminate the claustrophobic feel that is common in other condominiums, but also promote better illumination and cross ventilation. Marantina and Lavender buildings likewise have large openings called Sky Patios by virtue of DMCI Homes’ Lumiventt® Design Technology, a design innovation that brings the benefits of natural light and fresh air inside the residential units.
With all these healthy building features that go with Calathea Place’s resort-inspired amenities and large open spaces, Chris is convinced that he made the right decision to invest his money on a DMCI Homes condominium.
“I had mixed emotions moving in because we’re in the middle of a pandemic. Nonetheless, I am happy seeing how my investment has turned out to be here at Calathea Place,” he beamed.
