DMCI Homes condo communities participate in recycling initiative

Twenty one DMCI Homes condominium communities all over Metro Manila have collected 2,961 kilograms (kg) of Used Beverage Cartons (UBCs) as part of the recycling campaign of food processing and packaging solutions company Tetra Pak Philippines.

Dubbed as Project ReBins, the program is an initiative of Tetra Pak Philippines in partnership with Nestle Philippines and DMCI Homes Property Management Corporation (DPMC) to encourage recycling of UBCs in participating DMCI Homes communities in Metro Manila.

The campaign, which started last November 2020, aims to generate further awareness on the importance of recycling and its benefits to the environment. Instead of just throwing away the UBCs, the collected waste materials are repurposed to become useful everyday products like study tables and chairs.

DMCI Homes communities which participated in the recycling initiative include One Castilla Place, Zinnia Towers, and Viera Residences in Quezon City; Rosewood Pointe, Royal Palm Residences, Cedar Crest, The Birchwood, and Verawood Residences in Acacia Estates, Taguig City; La Verti Residences in Pasay City; Flair Towers, Dansalan Gardens Condominiums, and Tivoli Garden Residences in Mandaluyong City.

Other communities which participated are Sheridan Towers, Lumiere Residences, East Raya Gardens, Mayfield Park Residences, and Mirea Residences in Pasig City; Siena Park Residences, Arista Place, Asteria Residences and Raya Garden Condominiums in Parañaque City.

The communities which emerged as the top three volume performers as of May 2021 are Zinnia Towers with 524.1 kg; Royal Palm Residences with 242.1 kg; and Arista Place with 233.1 kg.

The campaign has so far helped repurpose a total of 100,000 packs or 1 tonne of UBCs collected from the participating DMCI Homes condominium communities.

As part of the project, the condo residents were also able to share Noche Buena dinner last Christmas to the children beneficiaries of CRIBS Foundation, Inc. in Antipolo City which provides a loving and safe environment for the abandoned, neglected and surrendered babies and female minor survivors of sexual abuse. 

“We are proud to be part of this admirable initiative to promote and encourage recycling for the benefit of our environment. Our residents once again proved that we can accomplish a lot of good things if we work together as a team,” DPMC Operations Manager Frederick Rapiñan said.
