Before the pandemic, DMCI Homes employees held a yearly Christmas party for kids living in the company’s host community in Barangay Bangkal, Makati City.
This year, in lieu of a Christmas party, DMCI Homes employees organized a donation drive at the DMCI Homes Corporate Center from November 10 to December 3 to raise in kind and monetary donations for kids not only in Barangay Bangkal but also for the children beneficiaries of CRIBS Foundation, Inc. in Antipolo City.
The employee donation drive gathered boxes of toys, pre-loved children’s clothes, hygiene and personal care products, and monetary donations which were all turned over to the Barangay Bangkal Council and CRIBS Foundation, Inc. last December 14, 2021.
“Before the pandemic, we had our yearly ‘Christmas Blowout’ gift-giving activity in our head office where our employees treated Barangay Bangkal kids to snacks, games, and gifts,” DMCI Homes Corporate Communications Manager Carlo Gahol said.
“For this year, our employees wanted to relive this tradition despite the pandemic by donating gifts for kids not just in our Barangay Bangkal community but also to the kids over at CRIBS Foundation, Inc.,” he added.
Both the Barangay Bangkal Council and CRIBS Foundation, Inc. welcomed DMCI Homes employees’ donations saying that these will greatly help the children enjoy more the spirit of the Christmas season this year.
In August 2019, DMCI Homes employees held a gift-giving activity in CRIBS Foundation, Inc.’s shelter in Antipolo City. The company in 2017 also donated construction and finishing materials for the foundation’s new shelter which houses the "Receiving Home" facility for the abandoned, neglected and surrendered infants aged 0-3 years old.
CRIBS Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization licensed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) providing a loving and safe environment for the abandoned, neglected, surrendered babies and female minor survivors of sexual abuse.
