Proving once again their commitment to give back to the community where they are working, DMCI Homes main office employees recently initiated a fund-raising activity to help public schools in Barangay Bangkal, Makati City.
Led by the Human Resources Department, DMCI Homes employees held a Virtual Charity Bingo Event as part of the company’s “Kaakbay sa Pamayanan” Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program, and were able to raise a total of P30,000.
The monetary donation was recently turned over to Barangay Councilor Tricia Eusebio, Chairperson of Barangay Bangkal Council Education Committee.
Eusebio said the amount will be used to purchase learning and resource materials for public schools in the Barangay Bangkal community.
“Through these materials, we shall be able to aid the literacy challenges we are facing today. The donation will not only help the students enrolled now, but will also benefit the community in the long run,” Eusebio said in thanking DMCI Homes employees.
For his part, Corporate Communications Manager Butch Mendizabal said DMCI Homes employees’ initiative shows how much they value the community where they are working.
“We take pride in our employees who are really community-minded. They always take to heart our company’s mission of building communities,” Mendizabal said.
Apart from being home to DMCI Homes’ main office, Barangay Bangkal is also the host community of Fortis Residences, DMCI Homes’ upscale property along Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City.
“Kaakbay sa Pamayanan” is DMCI Homes’ CSR initiative which covers issues on social welfare and community development. It is part of DMCI Homes’ umbrella CSR program “Kaakbay” which aims to foster good relations with the communities where the company operates and bring forth social activities beneficial to the Filipino society.
