DMCI Homes employees once again played Santa Claus to underprivileged children during the company’s annual Christmas gift-giving activities in the cities of Makati and Davao.
Dubbed as “Christmas Blowout,” the annual gift-giving activity of the country’s first Quadruple A developer aims to spread Christmas cheer to children living in communities where the company operates.
In Barangay Bangkal, Makati City, DMCI Homes employees delighted over 70 children to a day of fun, games, and treats at the company’s headquarters last December 9.
The beneficiaries who were selected by the Makati Social Welfare and Development (Makati-SWD) include 70 differently-abled children, kids of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) enrollees, and those under the Street Urban Working Children Program (SUWCP) of the government.
DMCI Homes employee volunteers went out of their way to cheer up the beneficiaries making sure that they enjoyed every minute of their stay at the multi-purpose gym of the DHCC.
After spending time at the photo booth and face-painting stations, the beneficiaries with their kuyas and ates then watched a presentation prepared by DMCI Homes employees.
The beneficiaries also teamed up with employees in parlor games and afterwards were treated to a Jollibee kiddie meal and ice cream.
The beneficiaries, on the other hand, prepared a dance number as a show of gratitude to their hosts.
Capping off the day was the distribution
of school supplies to the beneficiaries. Pairs of slippers were also
distributed thru the help of Rotary Club of South Triangle.
Meanwhile, DMCI Homes-Davao employees held their annual outreach program at the Missionaries of Charity Home for the Sick and Malnourished Children in Juana Subdivision, Matina, Davao City last December 21. The orphanage is located near DMCI Homes’ Verdon Parc development in Ecoland Drive corner Peacock St., Davao City.
Employees gave out activity books, coloring materials, and pillows to over 50 children-beneficiaries. A storytelling session was also held by employees much to the delight of the beneficiaries.
Digital marketing analyst Prine Kerson Lobitaña who was one of the first employees to volunteer for the Makati City gift-giving activity said there is no feeling more rewarding than seeing the children beneficiaries truly happy after spending time with them even for just a brief period of time.
“Nakakataba kasi ng puso kapag nakikita mo ang mga bata na masaya. Kapag masaya sila, masaya na rin ako,” shared Lobitaña.
One employee in documents control assistant II Leo Losauro was happy to be reunited with the child beneficiary he hosted during the Christmas Blowout edition in 2015.
“Happy to see you again Jerome! He was the kid I assisted during the first year of this program,” Losauro wrote in the caption of his picture with Jerome Villena which he posted on his Facebook account.
Design assistant Paulo Obrero, for his part, cherished his first time to volunteer for the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program activities of DMCI Homes.
“This is my first time to be exposed to such activity and I’m really happy that I joined. It’s a good learning experience for me,” Obrero said of DMCI Homes’ “Kaakbay ng Pamayanan” CSR program which aims to benefit residents of communities where DMCI Homes operates.
Alma Medina of the Makati-SWD, meanwhile, thanked DMCI Homes not just for the annual gift-giving activity but more importantly for showing kids the true meaning of Christmas.
“Thank you po sa walang
sawang pagpaparamdam sa mga bata ng tunay na pagmamahalan at pasasalamat sa
Poong Maykapal sapagkat iyan ang tunay na diwa ng Pasko,” Medina said.
