Even in her younger years, Joyce Bergado had always dreamed of settling in a calm and relaxing place where she can come home after grinding out in the office or in the field.
Now married and a mother to two kids, Joyce is happy she got to realize her dream by investing in Alea Residences in Bacoor City, Cavite which has become her family’s home since September 2019.
For the past two years, Joyce and her family have experienced all that she wished for in a home—a safe place with a relaxing vibe and a serene ambiance—qualities they got to appreciate even more when the coronavirus pandemic struck in early 2020.
Joyce said Alea Residences not only gives her family the privilege of enjoying the laidback vibe of the South while residing close to their workplace in Makati, the DMCI Homes’ mid-rise development also proved to be an ideal place to live in for her family during the pandemic.
“One of the things which convinced us to relocate from Makati is accessibility. This property is accessible via CAVITEX which makes Makati just a 20-minute drive away,” she said.
More importantly, living in Alea Residences allows their children to live in a serene environment, far from the noise and stress of urban living.
“When you are in Makati, it’s like everyone’s busy. So we wanted our children to live at a normal pace, away from the city rush,” she explained.
Safe haven
All of the advantages of living in a DMCI Homes community in southern Metro Manila became even more pronounced when they got to stay at home more because of the restrictions of the pandemic.
Joyce said she is grateful that her kids are able to cope well with the pandemic thanks to Alea Residences’ well-thought-out design and amenities.
“One of the good things which convinced us to invest is the property itself. It’s built by DMCI so it has good quality in terms of structure and construction. We think that it’s one of the best investments that we ever had,” said Joyce whose husband also works for an engineering consultancy firm.
Despite not being allowed to go out of the community, Joyce said her kids did not feel confined staying in Alea Residences because they still get to play around the condominium’s landscaped atriums and pocket gardens.
“They don’t feel that they’re restricted on doing the things that they love because even though they don’t get to use the playground, especially during the ECQ, they still get to play in the atrium so they are not just confined in our unit,” she enthused.
“It’s like an extension of your unit. It’s like you have an outdoor sala,” she said of DMCI Homes’ developments’ landscaped atrium feature.
Garden atriums are a trademark design feature in every DMCI Homes condominium development. The atriums are adorned with indoor plants, water features, mood lighting, and pathways that add a refreshing feel to the corridors of the building — a stark contrast to the typical image of cramped condo buildings.
This design feature also offers an incidental amenity to residents—extra living space in the form of a spacious balcony, with benches for lounging and relaxing.
‘Everyday staycation’
Apart from DMCI Homes’ healthy building design, Joyce also gave props to Alea Residences’ Property Management Office (PMO) for putting in a lot of work to ensure the health and safety of residents amid the pandemic.
“I love everyone in our PMO, the maintenance team, the security, and also the landscape team because they are very proactive in terms of addressing any issues. Everyone’s doing their job,” Joyce beamed.
“Whatever you need, they would definitely help you out and assist you,” she continued.
With all these advantages and benefits that they discover each day, the more Joyce and her family are endeared to southern living.
“If you want to get away from a busy life, then you should live in the South. It’s like having staycation every day especially if you live in a DMCI Homes project,” Joyce shared.
“It’s fun living here. You also get to buy and eat fresh and cheap vegetables and fish,” she added, smiling.
