DMCI Homes recently turned over essential supplies for farmers to members of the Tuba Agri-Tourism Community (TATC), including raincoats, rain boots, water tumblers, and logbooks, to support their farming needs.
DMCI Homes VP for Project Development Dennis Yap, VP for Marketing Jan Venturanza, Corporate Communications Manager Butch Mendizabal, and Marketing Manager Anabelle Mendoza personally handed over the supplies to TATC Chairperson Sharon Bitso, Vice Chairperson Jennelyn Saingan, and members of the organization at the Cabin in the Sky, Bayacsan, Taloy Sur, in Tuba, Benguet.
This initiative reaffirms DMCI Homes’ commitment to supporting the local farming community of Tuba, home to DMCI Homes Leisure Residences' Moncello Crest eco-agri condotel.
"Farmers are the lifeblood of Tuba, and we hope our donation makes their daily work a little easier. We look forward to building a lasting partnership with them as we promote sustainable farming and agri-tourism together," Mendizabal said.
The MOU aims to create opportunities for farmers while giving Moncello Crest’s future guests a taste of authentic farm life in the Cordillera region.
“Thank you for this opportunity to partner with DMCI Homes. We have seen on several occasions how DMCI Homes not only supports farmers and promotes agri-tourism but also helps the community. Whenever we needed assistance and reached out, they were always there,” Saingan said in Filipino.
“This partnership has made a difference not just for farmers but also for MSMEs that needed support. Together, we’ve been able to lend a helping hand to those in need, and we’re truly happy to see the whole community benefit from this partnership,” she added.
Eco-agri tourism hub
Recognized as an eco-agri tourism hub, Benguet is home to thriving farm tourism destinations, especially in Tuba, a town rich in agricultural experiences.
Tuba has become a sought-after alternative for visitors exploring Baguio City, with eco-agricultural farms offering farm-to-table dining, fruit picking, and farm tours—activities that give tourists a deeper appreciation of the Cordillera’s farming traditions.
Through this partnership, Moncello Crest guests will have the opportunity to visit local farms, buy fresh produce directly from farmers, and engage in hands-on agricultural experiences.
To further uplift Tuba’s farming community, DMCI Homes is also exploring designating spaces for local farmers to sell their products within Moncello Crest and other properties.
Beyond farm tours and market access, DMCI Homes has pledged additional support through skills training, financial assistance, and potential infrastructure improvements.
