Employees at DMCI Homes Corporate Center in Makati City have once again demonstrated their generous spirit by extending a helping hand to the Welfare Action Foundation of Davao Inc. (Boystown Davao), a charitable organization in Davao City.
Through their donations of essential goods, including sacks of rice and hygiene products, DMCI Homes employees have reaffirmed their commitment to making a positive impact on communities in need.
The funds for these donations were raised through the annual Virtual Charity Bingo event, a cherished tradition among DMCI Homes employees held every Christmas season.
Merly Amoguis, Assistant Business Unit Head of DMCI Homes Davao, facilitated the turnover of these donations last March 11, 2024.
This initiative, led by the Human Resources Department, is part of the company’s “Kaakbay sa Pamayanan” Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program, aimed at creating meaningful change and fostering community development in areas hosting DMCI Homes condominium projects.
Boystown Davao, a foundation dedicated to providing a nurturing home, educational opportunities, and a supportive community for underprivileged and abandoned boys, was chosen as last year’s beneficiary by DMCI Homes employees.
For four years now, the DMCI Homes employees’ Virtual Charity Bingo event has been making a positive impact on its beneficiaries.
In 2020, proceeds from the event were donated to the Philippine Children’s Medical Center.
Corporate Communications Manager Butch Mendizabal expressed pride in the initiative shown by DMCI Homes employees, emphasizing their malasakit towards the communities surrounding DMCI Homes developments.
“We're proud of our employees who genuinely care about the host communities of our projects. They fully support our company's efforts to help these communities,” Mendizabal said.
Mendizabal also highlighted the significance of Davao City to the employees, particularly due to DMCI Homes’ Verdon Parc project in the city.
“Davao holds a special place in their hearts because of our Verdon Parc project, which is why they decided to support Boystown Davao. Their kindness shows how much we care about making a positive difference and it reflects our company's values of malasakit and community building,” he added.
“Kaakbay sa Pamayanan” is DMCI Homes’ CSR initiative which covers issues on social welfare and community development. It is part of DMCI Homes’ umbrella CSR program “Kaakbay” which aims to foster good relations with the communities where the company operates and bring forth social activities beneficial to the Filipino society.
